The DMP-A8 features the AKM AK4499EX and AK4191EQ Digital-Analog Separation DAC solution. A concept under the name Velvet Sound | Verita, rooted in the idea of « perfect re-creation of the original sound» , it is dedicated to providing the most authentic sound and offering the listener an immersive acoustic experience. The DMP-A8 also features dual ACCUSILICON Femto clocks as found in the DMP-A6 Master Edition, and dual power supplies – a dedicated linear power supply for the analogue circuit and a high-performance low noise digital power supply for the digital board.

Elsewhere, the DMP-A8 gets additional digital inputs in the form of two Toslink optical ins, two coaxial RCA ins, and a dedicated HDMI ARC port. In addition to the digital outputs is a dedicated HDMI IIS port. The DMP-A8 also sports a 3rd generation XMOS 316 audio processor for faster and higher USB bandwidth ensuring lossless transmission of high-definition audio data.

With its diverse talents and connections, the DMP-A8 easily integrates with just about any system. As a streaming source device, of course, it can be thought of as a digital turntable with access to a huge record collection via all its compatible streaming services and library of your own files.

The network streamer can connect with high-end decoding devices via the HDMI, USB, Optical and Coaxial digital output ports. Alternatively, as a decoder itself, the DMP-A8 connects with audio source equipment like PCs and mobile devices via the Coaxial, Optical, USB Type-B input ports, and wirelessly with APTX HD Bluetooth. As a high-performance preamplifier, it supports analog XLR/RCA inputs. Through the balanced XLR and single-ended RCA analog outputs, you can connect directly to active speakers or to a hi-fi stereo amplifier in your two-channel or multi-channel system.

DMP-A8 outfits IIS output, which can connect to DACs with IIS input. The mute levels of different DACs’ IIS signals vary. MUTE PIN can be switched by settings. Supporting PCM 768kHz. DSD512 with the highest sampling rate.

The DMP-A8, equipped with HDMI ARC (Audio Return Channel) input, can be connected to display devices such as TVs and projectors that have HDMI ARC capability. This allows the separation and transfer of audio signals from the HDMI signal to the DMP-A8, providing the TV with a higher quality sound.
